TDU provides some recommendations for accommodation here.
It is of great importance that all teams are aware of and follow the safety standards for amateur rocketry in Australia, Queensland and their local states. The Australian Model Rocket Society (AMRS) provides a safety code that must be adhered to throughout the AURC here.
In addition to the AMRS safety code and your local states explosive regulations, CASR Part 101 regulations must be adhered to in the lead up to and during the AURC competition. Further details on CASR Part 101 can be found here.
It is a requirement that one member of each team achieves their L1 and L2 certifications before launching at the AURC in April 2019. This can be done by contacting your local rocketry club, who can assist you through the process and provide you with valuable knowledge and experience with rocketry.
Note also, that in order to fly your rocket at the competition launch event, held at TDU in Queensland, the person within your team who is officially launching your rocket will require a valid QLD explosives licence. Details on how to obtain this licence can be found in the documents tab or on GovDex and Slack.
The event will take place at Funny Farm, Queensland, Australia, which is approximately 1 hour north of Goondiwindi and about 400 km from Brisbane. The exact locations of camping and launch facilities will be released closer to the event.
Details regarding the scheduling of event days is now available. Competition registration, launches and associated events are planned to take place 17-20 of April 2019. With teams leaving on the 21st. Click here for a Teams Schedule
